We virtually sat down with soccer superstar Rachel Corsie to learn about her life, on and off the field.
Q. For those of us who don’t know you, who is Rachel Corsie?
A. I am a professional soccer player for Utah Royals FC and also currently the Scottish Women’s National Team Captain. I turned professional in early 2014, at the age of 24, and have played in top leagues in England, Australia, and the United States.
Q. What does being a Nuzest sports influencer mean to you?
A. I am excited to be able to work so closely with an excellent organization that is committed to health and nutrition, and that understands the vital importance of maximizing health and wellness. I also cannot wait to share that with my friends and followers, and help encourage everyone to feel their best.
Q. How do you make healthy choices and avoid temptations when it comes to your nutrition?
A. Well, honesty is key, and I definitely have a sweet tooth! I think anything in moderation is okay, but I love having a consistent and strict routine and now that I have found a healthy balance with my nutrition I have found that I have developed habits for the better. I have learned that keeping a healthy diet has made me feel rejuvenated and overall happier within myself and that makes it easier to keep up.
Q. What is your favorite indulgence?
A. Choc chip cookies.
Q. What is your favorite healthy snack?
A. I love blueberries.
Q. How do you stay active and fit?
A. Outside of playing soccer, I love yoga once or twice a week. I also enjoy some other sports, such as volleyball and badminton but don’t get as much time to play them as much as I would like to. Maybe this off-season!
Q. What is your favorite form of exercise?
A. Soccer is life.
Q. Aside from being a soccer superstar, what do you do for fun?
A. I currently have a podcast with fellow Nuzest athlete, Erika Tymrak. We try and record once a week, and we love it! I am also passionate about coffee and one day would love to open my own café, and so I make that a good reason to spend as much time in coffee shops drinking as much of it as I possibly can.
Q. What advice do you have for people wanting to kick-start a healthy lifestyle or to pump up their nutrition?
A. I have always found small changes to be the most sustainable. For nutrition, I don’t ever like to explicit say I cannot have certain foods, but instead I try and stick to the idea of making as many good choices, as often as I possibly can.
